About Me

Hello there! My name is Michaela and I am a 27-year-old freelance artist based in New York City. As long as I can remember, I have been passionate about art of any kind. As a kid, the 120 pack of crayons was a need, not a want.
Now I am working towards turning my love of art into a career. I started by selling or gifting art to friends & family, whether this be commissions or things I created with my own inspiration. I have experience in several different fields, but I find that I work best when doing creative endeavors. I usually find a way to incorporate my creativity into any job I have. However, perhaps if I did art full time I wouldn’t have to worry about getting in trouble for doodling during corporate meetings! Just kidding– I don’t do that.
I create mostly very colorful, maximalist, abstract art. I have experience with many different mediums and art materials. My favorite way to make art is painting with acrylics and drawing with felt tip markers. I enjoy doing mixed media pieces as well. I like to incorporate glitter and gems whenever possible. The idea of something being “too much” or “over-the-top” doesn’t really resonate with me.
Most recently, I have also been experimenting with graphic art and design on programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Procreate. I also love to bring life to vintage clothes and furniture by using these things as a canvas for my art.
